At Loc & More, women are at the heart of everything we do. From leading teams and driving strategy to ensuring every project runs smoothly, they shape our company’s success every single day.
This March, we want to celebrate them—not just for the work they do, but for who they are.
First off, a quick introduction.
Every woman at Loc & More has a story—of ambition, resilience, and the pursuit of something greater.
Some started as fresh graduates, eager to prove themselves. Others came with years of experience, looking for a place where they could truly make an impact. Some joined by chance, drawn in by a conversation, a recommendation, or a gut feeling that this was the right place for them.
But no matter how they got here, one thing unites them: they’ve all found a home at Loc & More. A place where their skills are valued, their voices are heard, and their journeys are celebrated.
Somaya Mostafa
VM Team Lead
From her first day at Loc & More, Somaya has been a driving force in the team. With a sharp eye for detail and a passion for quality, she ensures every project runs smoothly. Her leadership is not just about managing tasks—it’s about inspiring those around her.
My friend Sherin who was is the BD team recommended me for a VC position, exactly 7 and a half years ago.
Amira Anwar
HR Generalist
Amira is the heart of the HR team, making sure everyone at Loc & More feels valued and supported. Whether it’s guiding new hires or creating a positive work environment, she brings warmth, professionalism, and a deep understanding of people.
I was recommended by a friend to join Loc & More Family, and since then, I’ve started my journey with Loc & More.
Marwa Mohsen
Team Leader
Coming from a legal background, Marwa was looking for something different—a new challenge, a fresh start. Loc & More opened the door to the world of game localization, and it turned out to be more than just a job. It became a fun, exciting journey in a friendly environment where she gets to explore a whole new industry.
I come from a legal background, and after a while, I wanted to try something new, and I found that Loc & More can open the door for a new one in the Games field, and it’s been a fun experience in a friendly environment.
Noura Talaat
Senior Translator
Passionate about language and precision, Noura transforms words into meaning. As a senior translator, she bridges cultures and ensures that every piece of content is clear, accurate, and impactful.
After graduation, I worked as a translator for two years, then left the company that I was working for due to the Covid pandemic and worked in another field, which was CS, for one year. When I saw Loc & More vacancy announcement online, I wanted to apply but said to myself, no it’s been a while you are away from the translation field. At that time, a friend encouraged me to try and apply, then I got accepted at Loc & More after the test. They were very welcoming and never made me feel a junior; on the contrary, they kept helping, training, and guiding me, and I got promoted here two times. I do appreciate that and would like to thank them deeply.
Radwa Zidane
Business Development Specialist
Even though she works on the business side, Radwa still finds herself analyzing subtitles and cultural nuances, proving that localization is more than just words—it’s about bridging cultures.
With a degree in linguistics, being an AR-EN-TUR-ES polyglot, and being a localization professional, people usually assume that I am a translator, though I actually work in the business department. Ironically, I find myself QAing the subtitles of my favorite Turkish series and delving through the cultural nuances involved in the field. Kudos to all women in localization who play a key role in bridging cultures.
Maha Khaled
Senior EN>AR Reviewer
With years of experience and an unwavering commitment to excellence, Maha plays a crucial role in refining and perfecting translations. Her keen eye ensures that every word reflects both accuracy and cultural nuance.
Loc & More was the first company to welcome me after my graduation. Since then, the opportunities provided by my team members and manager have been countless, making this journey both enriching and rewarding.
Youmna Ahmed
Reviewer
With a keen eye for detail and a passion for linguistic accuracy, Youmna ensures that every translation meets the highest standards. Her work goes beyond just reviewing words—it’s about refining meaning, preserving nuance, and delivering quality that truly resonates.
What keeps me going every day is my passion for the translation and the feeling of having an influential role in the company. When I teach the translators some tips and give them advice, and I see the results reflected in their work, I feel that I really helped them in their career.

I started my career as a fulltime translator, over time, I reached a point where I felt I had hit a learning ceiling. That’s when I decided that it’s time to seek new knowledge, challenges and opportunities to grow. That’s when I found Loc & More.

I will never forget when Maha told me that I’m like a “joker” who can fit into any role and work with any material while maintaining high quality. Or when Omnia told me that I have great potential to grow and become even better.
Doaa Essam
Business Development Team Leader
Doaa, our dedicated Team Lead in Business Development, plays a key role in driving Loc & More’s growth and partnerships. With her strategic mindset and passion for localization, she helps expand our global reach.
My journey into business development wasn’t planned; it happened by chance! I was resigning from my previous job when someone recommended me to Loc & More. Honestly, when HR called, I didn’t even realize that "Loc" stood for "localization.” I thought it was "lock," like a safe or something 😂! But my curiosity pushed me to go to the interview to know more. I’ve always been curious about localization, I was randomly checking job titles, stalking LinkedIn profiles (don't we all?), trying to figure out what people actually do in this industry.
We asked the incredible women of Loc & More to share their experiences, and their stories reflect the values that define our company.
Here’s how Loc & More supports women in their careers and personal growth, in their challenges and achievements, and in making a real impact in the industry.
We believe that growth never stops, and at Loc & More, women are encouraged to learn, improve, and take on new challenges.
Whether it’s mastering a new skill, stepping into a leadership role, or exploring a new aspect of the industry, we provide the space and support to grow.
I started my career as a full-time translator, and over time, I reached a point where I felt I had hit a learning ceiling. That’s when I decided that it was time to seek new knowledge, challenges, and opportunities to grow. That’s when I found Loc & More.
—Omnia
I learned from each one in Loc & More, starting from Amera Elhady, who taught me what VM is, to Mr. Hany, Hala, Magedy, Nosseir, and each member who gave me advice one day. Personally, they are like another family. Maybe this is why I don’t really consider the other offers. I do appreciate working in a good and friendly environment more than anything else.
—Somaya
I was able to grow in Loc & More and discover different aspects of myself as a linguist, and improve myself, which led to applying them in my personal life and growing as a person.
—Marwa
I can say 2 words: Flexibility and Support. This is how Loc & More has helped me grow.
—Amira
From the moment I joined Loc & More, everything changed, both in my career and for me as a person. I went from a junior to a senior, and now a team lead. Every step came with its own story, its own lessons. I never thought I’d be leading a team, but here I am, three months into this role, and I’m loving the person I’m becoming. The most fulfilling part of my journey so far 🥰. It’s not about chasing targets or closing deals anymore; it’s about the people. I put my heart into training, guiding, and celebrating their wins because their success stories feel like mine!
—Doaa
A career should fit into life—not the other way around. Loc & More understands the challenges of juggling work and personal life, and we strive to create an environment that supports flexibility. Whether it’s remote work options, understanding leadership, or a culture that respects personal time, we make sure women feel supported in every aspect of their lives.
I make sure to rest well and explore my hobbies before and after work to recharge myself.
—Kaykay
Ahh, this question hurts as I had to put my two kids to sleep to have a good mood to be able to answer these questions. But, be sure that لا يكلف الله نفسَا إلا وسعها (‘God does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity.’ Quraan verse). Support matters: family support, work support, friends’ support. You won’t be 100% perfect, but you will do it well enough. If not now, soon then.
—Somaya
I’ve always felt it in my heart, and I’m deeply grateful for it. As I approach my five-year mark, Loc & More has given me the “peace of mind” I had always been searching for.
I love my role as a Business Unit Manager at Loc & More, and I can honestly say I never truly maintained a balanced daily schedule—until I joined this company. Now, I can smoothly manage my days, making time for exercise, pursuing my master’s degree, training and inspiring others as a business instructor, and enjoying uninterrupted quality time with my family. This is all thanks to a company culture that not only respects personal privacy but also actively nurtures the work-life balance we all need.
One of my favorite leisure moments? A cozy Sunday afternoon, binge-watching our localized series—or other titles, of course! 😃 Though I sometimes wish we had localized them ourselves—so I could finally stop critiquing the subtitles! 😉
Tip. People say time management is key, but I believe it starts with genuinely wanting balance. When you truly value it, you create the capacity and positive mindset to make it happen.
—Hala
I juggle work and personal life by prioritizing tasks, staying organized, and setting clear boundaries between work and home time. I also make sure to ask for support when needed and carve out time for self-care to recharge. My tip would be to stay flexible and focus on what truly matters in both areas.
—Amira
Work can easily devour personal life, but we have to try to set boundaries and not get caught up in the vortex of workload. We should include hobbies, activities, or whatever makes us happy in our routine.
—Marwa
Life is busy, I’m juggling a lot! it’s a lot to handle. Leading a team, running my own jewelry brand, pursuing a master’s degree in linguistics (which somehow always leads me back to localization—like I can’t escape it 😂), and still trying to make time for my yoga classes, my cat Na3nu3a (Minty in Arabic), and my family. It’s overwhelming, to say the least, but I get through it with my to-do lists, deep breaths, and a cup of ‘shay b laban’ (tea with milk), which, by the way, everyone at the office knows is my thing!
—Doaa
Leadership isn’t just about titles—it’s about making decisions, taking initiative, and feeling empowered to contribute.
At Loc & More, women step into leadership in all roles, whether they’re managing projects, driving sales, mentoring others, or making strategic decisions.
For me, the next step is to continue growing both personally and professionally. I aim to expand my expertise in the industry and contribute to creating an even more positive and inclusive work environment. I’m excited about the opportunities for continuous learning and how I can make a greater impact in the future.
—Amira
Getting to learn more not only workwise, but also in my personal life. Being a linguist is a blend of learning and responsibilities. It opens different horizons ahead of me and gives me the opportunity to get creative in some projects and challenge myself to produce the best translations. Thanks to this, I was able to grow and develop critical thinking, analyzing and problem-solving skills, which is empowering.
—Marwa
During the last months, I’ve been noticing how Hala and Mai are smoothly handling the two departments’ issues and it made positive that if women ruled the world, we’d certainly have world peace. 😃
—Radwa
A strong team is built on trust, encouragement, and people lifting each other up.
Loc & More is a place where women support each other, collaborate, and know they have colleagues who have their backs.
I am honored to be contributing to the potential growth of the company. I always joke that BDs make the company rich 😃. I also love that I can always rely on my team for advice and assistance whenever it’s needed.
—Kaykay
The most rewarding part of my job is having the opportunity to make a direct and meaningful impact on both the employees and the organization. So, I work on benefiting employees by introducing new benefit systems, such as training courses, fun activities, and other initiatives that help foster both professional and personal growth. It’s rewarding to see employees engaged and excited about the opportunities we’re providing to enhance their skills and work-life balance.
—Amira
Success looks different for everyone. Whether it’s completing a challenging project, solving a tough problem, or achieving a personal milestone, every win matters.
At Loc & More, we celebrate women’s achievements and encourage them to break barriers in their careers.
I’ve never seen being a woman as a challenge, actually, I’m being treated well as a woman, Alhamdolellah.
—Somaya
At Loc & More, I discovered more than just a workplace; I found a supportive environment that encouraged me to push boundaries and expand my skills.
—Omnia
Had I worked in a different industry or for another employer, my answer might be different. Women have long fought for workplace equality, yet in the localization industry, where women make up the majority of language professionals, I have always felt valued and empowered since I began my journey in 2012.
I’ve been fortunate to meet incredible mentors and industry professionals, both locally and globally, including men who not only supported and elevated me but also celebrated my achievements whenever I succeeded.
On this special day, while we honor women everywhere, I also want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the male colleagues and mentors who have championed and uplifted me along the way.
P.S. Becoming an empowered woman never means losing femininity—you can lead, achieve, and excel while staying effortlessly feminine.
—Hala
Throughout my career, I’ve faced new tasks and challenges that were outside my comfort zone. While these situations initially felt intimidating, I’ve always embraced them as opportunities to grow. I handled them by staying organized, seeking advice when necessary, and learning quickly through experience.
One of the biggest challenges I’ve also faced in my career has been balancing my responsibilities as a mother with my role as a working woman. Juggling both can be demanding at times, but I’ve learned to manage my time effectively, set clear priorities, and rely on a strong support system at home and work.
—Amira
Doing work that matters makes all the difference.
Women at Loc & More are not just here for a job—they are passionate about what they do, whether it’s through creative problem-solving, working with languages, or making a global impact.
I love every part of my job, but what matters most to me is the ‘human impression’ I leave on others. Whether it’s a vendor thanking me by name in a LinkedIn post for my assistance or a colleague reaching out after hours, knowing I’m always there to help, these moments mean the most to me.
I want to learn more, apply, and then teach.
—Somaya
What keeps me going every day is my love for my job and the incredible colleagues I work with. The passion I have for what I do motivates me to give my best each day.
—Amira
For me, the most rewarding part of my job is the relationships I build, both with clients and my team, and the impact we create together. I love connecting with clients, understanding their needs, and offering localization solutions that help them expand into new markets. Seeing a company grow internationally and knowing that our services played a key role in their success is incredibly fulfilling.
At the same time, collaborating with my team, brainstorming strategies, and overcoming challenges together make the journey even more rewarding. Every new client, every successful project, and every deal closed reminds me why I love what I do: helping businesses break language barriers and reach their full potential.
—Muna
Challenges are always present; we can easily overcome them by wearing our confidence.
—Marwa
What keeps me going every day is my passion for the translation and the feeling of having an influential role in the company. When I teach the translators some tips and give them advice, and I see the results reflected in their work, I feel that I really helped them in their career.
—Youmna
What keeps me going is the impact I want to leave, not just through the work I do, but the moments I share. I want to be remembered as the girl with the funny soul, the one you can talk to without hesitation, the person who listens, who supports, who cares. And who always has a smile on her face (no matter how tough the tasks get 😂)
—Doaa
Every woman has a story to tell and wisdom to share.
At Loc & More, we believe in lifting each other up, sharing experiences, and inspiring the next generation of women in the industry.
With the guidance of inspiring leaders and a team that values collaboration, I’ve been able to develop my career in ways I never thought possible. What excites me most is being part of a team that’s constantly growing, innovating, and achieving new milestones together.
—Omnia
My advice to women starting out in this industry would be to keep learning and continuously seek new experiences. Stay curious, be open to challenges, and don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. Growth comes from pushing yourself and embracing opportunities to expand your skills.
—Amira
What keeps me going is the excitement of new opportunities. Every day in business development is different, you meet new people, solve new challenges, and explore new possibilities.
The thrill of closing a deal, knowing that I’ve helped a company break language barriers and reach a wider audience, is what drives me. It’s not just about sales; it’s about making a real difference for businesses looking to grow globally.
My advice to all women out there: Be confident in your expertise and never hesitate to take the lead. The localization industry is constantly evolving, and there’s always something new to learn. Stay curious, ask questions, and build strong connections; they will be your biggest asset. And most importantly, trust that your voice, ideas, and expertise matter. The more confident and proactive you are, the more opportunities you’ll create for yourself.
—Muna
Our work field is unique and vast, and I enjoy working in different translation fields and learning new things about the industry every day.
My advice to all women out there: be confident, seek knowledge, and learn from your mistakes.
—Marwa
We've kept Nada’s story for last because it’s the kind that stays with you. It’s deeply personal, profoundly moving, and filled with warmth—a story that speaks to the heart in a way only true experiences can.
I have always loved languages and words, and my passion for translation was what pushed me to start my professional journey. I lived in a small village and began working as a freelance translator while studying for my translation diploma. I also volunteered at a magazine without pay. But over time, I felt the need for a bigger step, a new experience that would take me to another level—not just in my career but in my life as well.
After a while of working from home, I started feeling lonely and depressed, especially with some family issues I was facing at the time. That’s when I made a life-changing decision: I would move to Cairo and look for a full-time job to achieve my personal and professional independence. It wasn’t an easy decision, and the transition was even harder.
Suddenly, I found myself completely alone, responsible for everything from A to Z. I was pampered at my family’s house, where I never had to think about rent, groceries, or even daily meals. But in Cairo, I became responsible for everything—work, commuting, bills, even the smallest things I had always taken for granted. At first, these challenges were overwhelming, and they still are sometimes, but the difference now is that I’ve adapted and learned how to handle them better.
Working at Loc & More has been more than just a job; it has been a school that taught me so much—not only about translation but also about life and dealing with people. I have faced challenges and difficult situations, but I have learned from each one, even the tough lessons. At the same time, I have met amazing people, some of whom feel like family, always offering support and encouragement.
There are times when I feel discouraged or that I’m not doing enough, but I always find someone to uplift me. What truly motivates me is receiving positive feedback about my work and knowing that my efforts are appreciated. I will never forget when Maha told me that I’m like a “joker” who can fit into any role and work with any material while maintaining high quality. Or when Omnia told me that I have great potential to grow and become even better.
I dream of continuous improvement, of achieving my goals, maintaining consistency and high quality, and living up to the trust placed in me. I also hope to be a source of inspiration for others, just as I have found inspiration and support on my own journey.
On International Women’s Day, I want to tell every woman striving for independence and growth: Don’t be afraid of challenges—they shape you and make you stronger. Believe in yourself, embrace change, and work hard. Every step you take brings you closer to your dreams.
—Nada
The women of Loc & More are proof that a workplace can be more than just a job—it can be a space for growth, support, and real impact.
Their stories inspire us, and their contributions shape the future of our company and the industry as a whole.
Here’s to WOMEN who ‘do it like a GIRL’!
—Radwa
Here’s to the women of Loc & More, the ones balancing a million things, showing up every day, and chasing their dreams with a to-do list in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other! 🥰
